Opposites Attract

I finished the mime peice. I decided to crochet the necklace in black and white with a vintage button. I thought about adding drops with in it, but after starting decided that was going to work for this necklace. So I took it apart and started over. The bail is ladder stiched because I couldn't figure out the pattern of odd peyote stitch that I wanted to use. I do alright when it's straight, but once I have to add or substrach I don't get it. I think I'll have to take a class on it. However I haven't seen a class on it any where.

Well over all I think the necklace has that wow factor. I'm taking it to the gallery Friday and hope that it gets excepted into the show. That's the bad thing about entering shows, the not knowing if it will get excepted.

The Garden of Beaden

I finished all the beading on my project. Now I just have to figure out how I want to frame it. Any suggestions? The color is a little brighter then the photo is showing.
I think it looks good for my first time doing this. Hope you think so too.

My Progress

these are the 4 faces that I made

I was going to bead all of them as pendants before I decided to make the art. Here I created a BW sad/happy Jester pendant. it is composed of real pearls, onyx and iced quartz plus glass sead beads, plus a silver tear drop. I'm undecided at this time of how I want the necklace to be. I'm either going to string a design with onyx and sliver or hand bead / crochet one. I'll let you know when I know.

So this is the beginning of my flower and leaf goddesses

Here I have added the grown around the seeds, leaves on the vines and I'm creating a beaded flower hood for the flower Goddess.
Next I'm going to add sequins for the flower buds and then beaded flowers and finally some butterflies to complete it.
Well what do you think? Have I gone totally MAD?? Or do you like it.

slow progress

Everything seems to be against me doing this beading project.
First I was full speed, then my tendentious of the thumb flared up, now I'm to ill to sit and bead. I have a sore throat and an ear ache.......
Soon I hope.

Inspiration from the internet

The other day at work the department was bottle necked and I was left with keeping myself busy.
I started wondering around on the Internet when I came upon this blogger.
beadbabe
I was very intrigued by her bead work. Then I found a post that she showed taking beads and embellishing them on cloth to create art. I was very excited and inspired so much that I couldn't wait to do this.

I've started doing one, but you will have to wait until I get a little more done before I post a photo. I will tell you about it to tease you.

I created two faces with polymer clay (originally to create pendants. They are faces that I embellished with beads prior to baking and then I painted them. One is pink and she is the flower Goddess and one is green and she is the plant Goddess. Together they make the garden.

Have I sparked your interest??

I'm also working on a Jester Pendant that I was originally doing prior to starting this new project. Actually I'm done with the pendant just needs to create the necklace. It's a good thing that I like to multi task. It's just to bad that I don't have very must spare time to do all the things that I have interest in. I still have watercolor books to read.

I'll post photos soon.

Fringe Necklace Set

(not use about this black background)

Usually I make a necklace and then I make matching earrings. Not this time. After making these earrings Saturday with the beading girls I loved the color combo. I thought these need a companion. I think this pattern worked great with these glass beads. I just love this one.
